AS PARENTS AND GUARDIANS
You don't have to have all the answers
As parents, it's completely natural to want the very best for your child.
Whether they're choosing university, considering an apprenticeship, questioning their career direction or simply feeling unsure about what comes next, watching them struggle can leave you wondering how best to support them.
You may find yourself wanting to fix the problem, offer advice or help them make decisions. While all of these responses come from a place of love, young people often benefit from having a neutral person outside the family who can provide reassurance, ask thoughtful questions and help them develop confidence in their own decision-making.
My role isn't to tell your child what they should do.
It's to help them discover what feels right for them.

WHY PARENTS CHOOSE MENTORING
My approach
One of the things I care about most is helping young people make decisions that belong to them.
I don't believe there is one "correct" career path, and I certainly don't believe success should be measured solely by grades, job titles or other people's expectations.
Instead, I aim to help young people understand themselves more deeply so they can make informed decisions with confidence, even if those decisions change over time.
As a Mental Health First Aider (MHFA), I also recognise that uncertainty, low confidence and mental wellbeing are often closely connected. While mentoring is not therapy, I understand how important it is to create a safe, supportive environment where young people feel listened to, respected and encouraged.

Every young person's journey is different, and sometimes having someone outside the family to listen, encourage and provide perspective can make all the difference.
