Mentoring is about providing guidance, encouragement and a supportive space to explore your future. Together we'll reflect on your strengths, values, goals and options, helping you build confidence and make informed decisions. While I'm Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) trained and always consider wellbeing as part of our conversations, mentoring is not therapy or counselling and does not replace professional mental health support when it's needed.
Every mentoring journey begins with a complimentary 15-minute discovery call, where we'll have an informal conversation about your current situation, what you're hoping to achieve and whether mentoring feels like the right approach for you. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian is welcome to join this conversation so they can ask any questions and provide consent before we begin. If we decide to work together, we'll start by exploring your strengths, challenges, aspirations and goals during our first full session. From there, I'll create a personalised mentoring journey, typically lasting 8–10 one-hour sessions, held every one to two weeks. Rather than following a rigid programme, every session is tailored to your individual needs and may cover topics such as confidence, decision-making, university or career choices, resilience, wellbeing and personal development.Between sessions, you'll receive practical reflection activities and optional resources to help you continue your progress, including exercises from the Free Mentoring Hub where appropriate. These aren't tests or homework, they're simply opportunities to reflect, build confidence and put our conversations into practice. At the end of the programme, we'll take time to review everything you've achieved, celebrate your progress and discuss what feels right for your next steps. Some people feel ready to continue independently, while others choose occasional check-in sessions or another mentoring block to support a new chapter in their journey. You can explore each stage of the mentoring journey in more detail on the Mentorship page.
